Rainbow Trout Scattered Throughout Lake

ANGELS CAMP – Experienced trollers are still bagging rainbow trout at New Melones Reservoir, but the bite has become tougher.

“I was back on New Melones after playing on the Delta yesterday,” reported Kyle Wise of HeadHunter Sportfishing on February 22. “The trout bite wasn’t red hot, but we picked away at them pulling Papa-G and Tspoons from the surface down to 140’. Today was pretty tough trying to find an area to fish – the fish were just scattered all over. We fished from Glory Hole Point all the way south and back up.”
