Trout hard to find -- Bass all over the lake
Rob Hower of Redding sent us this report: Shasta lake is looking good right now -- only 35’ to crest and the morning surface temperature at 50°. The last storm we had really didn’t make much difference in water level. The lake debris is very minimal and water is relatively clear. The winter trout bite is not as good as usual this time of year. This is not just an isolated issue for us. Many other anglers are having the same problem. We just cannot seem to find where these fish are located. When we do pick up a trout or two, it’s just a few.
